Hello,

My name is Albert. I really enjoyed your tutorial that you posted on romnation.net about SF3 thank you. The reason I am writting to you is because, I would like for you to please tell me of a website where I can download working MAME CHD'S from?

I would very much appreciate it that from you, THANK YOU!

reasoning a .chd compilation would take approximate 60gb, most rom sites don´t host them. my solution for you would be to google for the exact file name.

example: many people posted "whinewhinewhine street fighter 3:3rd strike chd link is not available anymore!". while they posted that, they lost time. google, 33s000.chd, enter, first link, download, finish.

you are welcome here on RN, pls do not misunderstand me :o in .chd case, you just have to google.

in the best case you get a working link. if you wont get any, try google again with "share 33s000.chd" (sf3:3s for example) and you will find a link to rapidshare, speedyshare or a torrent. 100%, you will find something. afterwards, have fun playing :o

ps: if you are looking for a KI2 chd, search the forum, search function. somewhere is a working link (ULTRA-ULTRA-ULTRA COMMMBOOOhhh!^^)

ps2: where you just looking for a working chd link for sf3:3s or a compilation?

E: just used the serach function for you:
1) several members will tell you a directdownload.
2) searchfunction = you´ll get all of the chd links you want
3) not only one RN member owns a complete compilation of the chd files. PM them (after using the serach function), especially Grocklon...---> ask him about the meaning of "BORKED".
4)i would upload what you want but in my flat i only have ISDN -.-

sfiii3 + MAME Reply to this Post Post Reply with Quote Edit/Delete Posts Report Post to a Moderator       Go to the top of this page

Hi! I love Street Fighter 3 and I love MAME!
Because of that I try to do everything "by the book".
My "perfect environment for SF3".

My solution was based on this ROM description:

http://www.mameworld.net/maws/romset/sfiii3

There are only 2 files inside sfiii3.zip

* sfiii3_usa.29f400.u2
* And the CHD

I downloaded the sfiii3_usa.29f400.u2 from this post:

http://www.romnation.net/forums/attachme...tachmentid=4453

The file has the name sf33usa.bin.
Just rename it to sfiii3_usa.29f400.u2..

The CHD (CD Image) is here for now:

http://files.filefront.com/33s000chd/1;7...6/fileinfo.html
(this download will need some retries until start)

Put "33s000.chd" and "sfiii3_usa.29f400.u2" inside the same ZIP File.
The name of this Zip must be "sfiii3.zip".

This is THE REAL "Street Fighter III 3rd Strike: Fight for the Future (USA, 990512)" for MAME.

The 1st run will need 20 minutes to creat sfiii3.nv NVRAM, but you can copy your sfiii3n.nv or problable any other CPS3 .nv file.

The problem is that my MAME OS X don't have online play.
So, I can't try play online.

I created a perfect sfiii3n.zip too.
Inside MAME the name is:

Street Fighter III 3rd Strike: Fight for the Future (Japan, 990512, NO CD)

That was simple.
At first, download this file:

http://files.filefront.com/sfiii3nzip/;8...;/fileinfo.html

Then download this ROM:

http://www.romnation.net/srv/roms/45413/...the-Future.html

Unzip ROMNation's sfiii3.zip and create a new sfiii3n.zip with the following files:

sfiii3_japan_nocd.29f400.u2
10
20
30
31
40
41
50
51
60
61

This new Zip is the sfiii3n.zip that MAME needs.

PS: MAME will report sfiii3.zip as parent of sfiii3n.zip. This is NOT truth.
It happens because of this old fashioned sfiii3n.zip (that needs ROMNAtion's sfiii3.zip).
It WON'T affect the ROM or MAME!

PS2: I TESTED (sha1) ALL FILES!
THEY ARE ALL REAL!

well im using mame 0.119 plus plus and whenever i try to use this nocd rom it seems as if the background is missing. the rom in itself works fine. the only problem is that only the player sprites and some of the menu sprites are showing up. did anybody have this problem before ? :o

"turn off Anisotropic Filtering" was the first thing i thought off......but there isn´t an option for that in mame 0.119 Frown

did you ever changed any graphic/display settings? if so, which one(s)? reinstall mame/factory settings? ...or
did you test it with another mame version (mame++0.117, ++0.118 )?

hm i´m curios aswell cause .119 works properly with sf3 for me and many others (i see them playing on kaillera). Confused maybe you changed some graphic options by mistake/for another game and don´t remember it.

I'm trying to run SFIII:3S on Nebula's cps3 emulator but I'm having trouble getting it to work.

I've already followed the instructions on the first page to:

1) Remove the semi-colon in front of the Dir1=c:\cps3\roms line in the configuration settings.

2) Added the 33s000.chd and sf33usa.bin files to sfiii3.zip.

3) So in my C\cps3\roms directory I have sfiii3.zip which is roughly 127MB and contains the files:
10
20
30
31
33s000.chd
40
41
50
51
60
61
sf33usa.bin

When I run the emulator and select Load Rom -> Street Fighter III 3rd Strike: Fight for the Future (CHD) I get the message:

Unable to find file CHD\33s000.chd
Unable to initialise emulation.

Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

you don't need the .chd file with the nebula emulator. try opening the sfiii at the top

Sorry if I missed something in this thread but...
the files
10
20
30
31
40
41
50
51
60
61

Where do you get these? I already have the 33s000.chd and the sf33usa.bin,
these are the only files I don't have(google didn't help much because of the name of the files)

Edit: Nevermind I figured it out, I didn't load the CHD version of the file but the one at the top.
