This may or may not be a totally noob-ass question, but what exactly does all the stuff in parentheses and brackets after the names of roms mean? This place has half a dozen versions of practically everything, and it gets pretty confusing. I mean, everyone knows that (J), (U), and (E) are region codes, but what happens if you've got a (JUE)? Or more confusingly, a (JU) version and a (JE) version? And then you've occasionally got games like Bonanza Brothers for the Genesis that has like, serial numbers or something in parentheses. What's the significance of (G-4046) and (MK-1124) on that game? And then there's Beyond Oasis that has (4) after all 7 versions, and no region code. What's up with that?
Parentheses aren't too bad, but brackets are really confusing. There's [a#], [b#], [h#], [!], [x], and God knows what all else. What does it all mean?
