I'm facing more potential jailtime for my drug charges than if I were to go out rape & savagely beat a woman & leave her for dead..like Kobe Bryant. Why? because I'm a terrorist..the actions I engage in are counter productive to the progression of the United States. Hippies interested in peace & brotherhood are targeted & profiled as detriments to society..for selling medicinal herbs outlawed by an uninformed body of individuals. And what does Mr. Bush plan to do about it..invade the privacy of each & every one of us..those involved in illicit activities..or those not because everyone has the potential to be a terrorist if not carefully monitored & scrutinized. What a shame.

the world is a fucked up place. as much as i don't agree with your level of punishment, you knew what you were doing was illegal, you had the choice not to do it, but you took the risk anyway, and got busted.

He wasn't even charged with that and he was still facing a potential life sentence.
Other than that, yeah weed shouldn't be illegal but you got caught slangin' anyhow. You knew that risks man.
I hope for the best for you but there's also more fucked up shit goin' on in the world too. Chin up man. You got to do your best with whatever happens anyway right?

weed shouldn't be illegal, i personally think tobacco is a more damaging substance, and the hemp product is a very useful resource and could be used to save other, more valuable resources. funny to think that 200 years ago, you could be jailed in Virginia if you DIDN'T grow cannibis. the reasons marijuana is illegal are based on religion and disinformation. but in a country so fucked up that they would amend their own constitution to outlaw alcohol, as it any wonder that stupidity prevails?

Or Jamaica, where weed is part of the culture and everybody has a delightfully amusing accent.

Hah.
That`s funny.
The word "choice" just isn`t involved in these matters. It never has been. And it probably never will be...
Pesky thing that these laws are usually passed by crazy, right-wing, dreadnought, power-mad speed-freaks who have more money, hash and coke in their pads than God.
But that`s it, you see... Free spirits have to reel and hide, cowering in the shadows, unaware that the sordid state of affairs that we are in is of our own making. And remember... Smoking bleems is as illegal as dowloading roms.
Oh, FYI, greens are officially illegal in the Netherlands - the governament chooses to tolerate small "coffee shops" in Amsterdam, only if they sell gear openly, and at a reasonable price (usually around $4 a gram).
Funny that most Dutch folk hate this fact. And who could blame them? Amsterdam, once the pride and jewel of the Lower Lands, is now a shithole... A sordid pisspool of rowdy and violent tourist druggie first-timers who are either too moronic or too embarassed to get ripped to the tits in the privacy of their own homes. God I hate them.
Unlucky, Potter, unlucky. Mt heart goes out to you pal...
We`ll get the bastards one day.
Death to the weird.

Nobody put a gun to his head and made him sell the shit. So yeah, it sounds like he made a "choice" to me. I have no sympathy. Weed turns smart people into stupid people.

shall i get my ass fucked in jail and my privacy invaded for the rest of my life because the government considers me a terrorist, or shall i continue trying to make ends meet like everyone else, living in an urban dwelling of some sort and being able to afford at least a computer and an internet connection to post on romnation
from someone whose profile reads:
Interests: Biking, Computers, Music, Activism, Writing, Piano, Expanding my PC simpsons collection
Occupation: In order to get proper paper for bartering consistent quarters for months @ a time I spend some of my time in a convenience store.
i wouldn't exactly say Potter is scraping pennies to afford his next meal.
choice

That's a bit weird, U can go to so called coffeeshops, where U can buy weed and smoke it if U like but not buy and/or drink alcohol. It's completely legal to sell and smoke weed, but not growing it in a greenhouse or something, that's forbidden, U can have five plants in Ur house though, if U don't sell the weed but smoke it Urself or give some to friends. We also have something called eco or smart-drugs, that's mushrooms and such, U can buy these in the smartshops, but U can not buy weed or alcohol there. Drugs is pretty much easy to get here in Holland and what people say about having a drugproblem here isn't really true, we don't use more than other countries, we just try to control the problem in a different way, and I say that we do a pretty good job at that one

This is a sticky, and maddening subject...
Judas Priest - drugs are ok! Damn, I`d go as far to say that they`re great. They save lives, ease pain, and sometimes, allow you to see beyond. But remember: they are not for everyone. Like Absynthe.
But that`s just my opinion. Shit - one thing I do know we all agree on is that everybody is entitled to a different one of those. But with regards to gear, we have a communal problem.
Mostly through lack of understanding, they have hastily been made illegal - interestingly by people who indulge quite severely themselves. Ironic? No, that isn`t a strong enough word.
I am closely involved in politics. I know how the machine works, and it is oiled mostly by DMT-based stimulants, dexedrine, and aphetamines. How the fuck do you think these people stay up and work all night? Because they believe in making the world a better place? Wrong. Wake up and smell the bacon.
As a predictable result of all this situation, a seedy, violent, and fickle underground scene has emerged - a bit like the famed American prohibition era. It`s inevitable... Just take a look at money exchangers in Moscow, visa bandits on the Chinese border, child prostitution in Phat Phong, and even marriage salesmen in California... Whatever is banned spells out a big neon dollar sign to anyone with a smidgen of initiative. Supply meets demand.
Some people call it "The Question": why spend all of your life pushing pennies, paying taxes for a governament you don`t believe in or trust, simply trying to make enough to get by, when you could land one big score and be done with it? Tricky one, that. Sometimes I don`t know myself... So. C`mon, man... Are you in, or out?
But on the drugs front, it`s important to remember this: the problem is not the drugs, it`s the goofballs that fuck it up for everybody else. Like peadophiles in Disneyland... They ruin the fun. Hey, I`m a decent, harmless person, and all I want to do is enjoy a spliff from time to time with my end-of-meal sherry.
A girl gets stabbed one night by a raving loon in a Missouri dive... What do you do - ban knives? No. It`s simple: some people should be kept away from weapons, and some people should be kept away from drugs. But to condemn a harmless soul simply because he or she is in "the business" is as tarty as it is phony. Not to mention a waste of (privatised) prison space.
Too many lies.
Jeezus. What is wrong with me today? Must... stop... writing...

no, you're dead right, but our legislative society is based on a false sense of equality for everyone, in that if it's okay for one person to have a knife, it's okay for everyone to have a knife, even though it's quite obviously not
this can be applied to alot of things, of which i can give a million examples - firearms, drugs, knives, even a wheel brace from a car can be a dangerous thing in the wrong hands, but almost everyone owns one of them, certainly all vehincle owners do in case of a flat tyre
in a perfect world, it would be possible to ban certain people from doing or having certain things. it's okay for you to sell drugs because you won't mess people up, but not you. it's okay for you to have a firearm because you are a responsible person, but not you. it's okay for you to download neogeo roms because you can read the faq and download the bios, but not you. but then there would be no crime, and everyone would get along and we would have utopia. and then there's the question of who would police it?
the world is a fucked up place. being constantly reminded of this through reality tv shows and american political strongarm tactics has forced me never to watch tv again in my house. as much as we all know and say the truth, the real proper right thing will never ever happen
