Has anyone tried or been able to burn & play arcade roms on any console?I've found burning services but its seems like they only sell the roms to play on PC,but no consoles.Any help would be real helpful

first, why should you want that? you download the roms with the pc, you burn em with the pc and you can use every joystick/gamepad/lightgun/wheel/pedals and so with the pc.

second, that sounds weird to me cause an emulator (hey JP, still know the eumudubalbobellarator or how you called it? Big Grin ) makes your pc think "hey, i´m an arcade machine/snes/mega drive/and so on, i run this rom".

you can do it on an old Xbox if you have the hard drive installed. lots of sites out there too...

http://sourceforge.net/projects/mameox

You can also run Linux on a PS3 and use mame that way.

Google has all your answers.

like jp says, if u have a harddrive and a "consolated" version of an emulator, why not. but theres still the question why you shuld want that?

easier carrieable would be an argument. but everyone owns a pc nowadays and you have to show me a console that is smaller than a 300gb external-harddrive.

Exactly. And also, some people still have crappy slow PC's like myself; the games may run faster on PS2. While my CPU's fast enough for NES and SNES, it lags with MAME.
I've been researching this for awhile now, and it seems you have to tear apart your PS2 to put in a mod chip. Which, unfortunately, isn't going to happen, the last time I tried any PS2 'maintenance' (cleaning the lens because my wife smokes and it plays hell with every laser appliance in our house), the data ribbon broke and I had to get a new one. ok, your arguments are true. i just forgot to think about the situation of others a bit more. i started to work with 15 and earned my own money; and with 15 i bought my first pc then (to play monkey island 1, insane copy protection btw Big Grin ).

It looks like the download to play Mame on Xbox is for an older version of Mame

I'd rather play Mame & other roms on my 50 inch lcd HDTV.And if i wanted to play a 4 player game,i can easily do it on a console rather than a PC

if your LCD has VGA input you can just hook a pc up that way. That's what I'm doing. I am reading this forum on my 46" LCD while sitting on my couch and typing on a wireless keyboard Big Grin it kicks ass to play mame in the living room like a regular console
