wow Toxi, I didn't realize you have such awesome taste in music. Buddy Holly is the man - "not fade away" is my favorite song of his. (i hadn't heard of like 90% of the songs people listed, so I am glad to see we have similar taste...)
hmmm...my favorite songs, in no particular order.
"since I been loving you" - Led Zeppelin
"lawdy miss clawdy" - Elvis Presley
"give me love" - George Harrison
"dogs" - Pink Floyd
"all summer long" the Beach Boys
"i just wasn't made for these times" the Beach Boys
"in 1983 a merman I should turn to be" - Hendrix
"what would I do with you" - Ray Charles
"shine on you crazy diamonds" - Pink Floyd
"release me (live version)" - Pearl Jam
"divided sky" - Phish
"Walk on the Ocean" - Live version by that guy from Toad the Wet Sprocket...ummm....Glen Phillips
"the hardest part" - Ryan Adams and the Cardinals, pretty much every song on "Cold Roses" and "Jacksonville City Nights" are great
"oh me" - as performed by Nirvana unplugged
"green and grey" - Nickel Creek
"hey, hey what can I do" - Zeppelin again, pretty much every song by Zep is good, though most have been played out by the "classic rock" radio stations so I can't even listen to them anymore.
Every song on Revolver by the Beatles, and make that the White Album and Abbey Road too
...and the list goes on. The new Wilco cd is amazing, but too new to classify a "favorite"

It would seem so.
I can't believe I forgot about Led Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix, that 1983 song of his is amazing. That'll show me for posting so early in the morning.
