Anyone watching this anime?? its a short series only 5 eps 3 have aired so far more may be made who knows at this point has the voices of popular actors such as samual l jackson, ron perlman, kelly hu, jon kassir as u've already guessed its a joint between the japs an americans so no need for fan subbers Tongue

Its the classic tale of Vengeance!!!, love, betrayal yes i know it sounds like every other samurai anime but after ep2 that changes really good stuff find it on ur fav torrent tracker if u missed it

Yeah when i saw the trailer i was amazed how good the animation was, i'm going to wait till it comes out on dvd that way i can see all the episodes.

yeah Japanese Animation studio GONZO is to thank for that it cost a whopping 1 million dollars to make a episode which is a record for Gonzo

after watching the first 3 eps i can say its combination of cowboy bebop (mixes the old with the new) and rurouni kenshin (in his hitokiri battousai days) theres even a bit of nudity and screwing ehehehe kelly hu sounds hott! wen she moans yummy!

theres even plans for a video game a live action move starring of course Samuel L Jackson should be good I hope Smile

is this Really anime?
Cu's it was made by Americans(not the animation) and it air in in the USA first...I don't know but to me the African Samurai is like a mockery of what a samurai stands for. Mad (Nothing Against the Black Community I have a lot of black friends..shit all my Weed comes thanks to my Niggaz! Cool )
I'm not much into the Negro Samurai action but gonzo is the shit..
so I have to check it out... Big Grin

Yes it was licensed early on in pre production!!! hence the voice dubbing and released in both the states an japan at the same time afro samurai started off as a dojinshi manga in guess where? JAPAN click the damn wiki link FOO!!

Is it on DVD yet? and also any1 know if HELL BOY BLOOD & IRON is out on DVD? i cant seem to get any info about it.. i went to the official site and all i got was the BLOG.... oh and i did see some of AFRO SAMURAI on SPIKE T.V. it looked GREAT! but i had work the next day so i couldnt stay up & watch...

This comment about disliking a "Negro" samurai is rediculous... Do you know waht year this is? We are no longer "Negro" Jack***! We are BLACK! Say it! B-L-A-C-K! I've been a proficient Katana Swordsman for 15 of my 27 years. Not a Black swordsman or a "Negro" swordsman, but a Swordsman. Just like Yao is a Basketball player. We actually refer to him as the "Premier" center in the league... That translates to the best in the World by the way. He's not a "Chinese" basketball player. Move past the fact that an animator created a Black samurai and enjoy his art. May 22 says so on the official web site, hellboy is being released on June 12 ever heard of goolge or amazon my lazy internet son? p.s the hell boy movie sucks

I've seen this on Spike also and it was ok but I wasn't that into it. It seems like I've seen stuff like it a million times and the only new thing is that the protagonist isn't the 'bishounen' style. The anime they used to show on G4tech was ok though, more my thing than the old thing with the taciturn loner with a sword. (Granted I didn't see a ton of Afro Samurai but does this guy have ANY friends besides that weird skinny dude in glasses that seems like his hallucination?)

Nope he pissed or killed all his friendships away in his childhood in the bid to get the no. 2 headband in his mad quest for vengeance and his side kick (ninja ninja) is actually his conscience his way of dealing with the things he's done though its not explained why some can see him and some can't notice how ninja ninja doesn't actually do anything but complain and tell afro to be careful when he thinks he's in over his head and that one time when he told afro he should tap that fine ass that was nursing him back to health least he listened for once heh heh heh
