well as for me, all i can say is contra the arcade game.. it's easy as cake!.. and i can get up to the last boss in aliens arcade...

Contra as well, plain Mario Brothers (well, it gets only so difficult that I literally have to just turn it off), and probably the most difficult one that I've only managed to beat once: Rastan. A complete pain because in the last stage you can't continue.
There's plenty of others I've completed but can't remember right now.

Oh yeah, I forgot about all the fighting games. There's nothing I hate more game-wise than seeing anything besides zeroes at the end of a Street Fighter/Darkstalkers score! If I get beaten, I'll start all over again and not continue!

if you count beating an arcade game to mean:

- clocking the score over

- reaching a certain destination while the game just repeats itself with greater difficulty each time

- playing the game for a long stretch until the repetitiveness of the game bores you into quitting...

I practically lived in the arcades when I was growing up. I only got that good at those games after playing them a zillion times. Nowadays when I play those games I'm lucky to get through more than a couple of scenes. Roll Eyes

I miss the old consoles though. They certainly gave you more control than my el cheapo gamepad. I'm going to have to build myself a cabinet one day.

And Elevator Action Returns, I've just done it, but that's very easy --but good game. I think I beat Samurai Shodown IV with on credit the first time I tried, but it's too easy and worse... SS2 will always be my favourite. Big Grin

wow retinasoup, i'm still having trouble with raiden, for some reason i can never beat kung fu master no matter how hard i try... right now i'm working on wonder momo... for you that don't know.. it's a 1 quarter arcade classic that doesn't let you continue, it's a weird japanese game.. i'm sure i can be beaten.. and i can get really far in wardner it's really tough....
