post your favorite guitarists here and why you like them. or a little bit about them
1. Paco De Lucia - aka Fransisco Sanchez Gomez was born 1947 in Algeciras Spain.
2. Tomatito - aka Jose Fernadez Torre born in Almera Spain about the same age as paco, Hes in 2nd place to inherit paco's throne. He also started playing at very early age, he can get a little too technical and jazzy at times, some call him a paco clone, but he has his own style, and anyone could tell them apart from paco if they heard the two
3. Juan Martin - defintely on the lower end of techical skill, but still nothing to scoff at, one could only hope to be as good as him. He is the one who turned me on to this whole genre of music, with his videos (available at most local guitar stores) He is a BRILLIant teacher. I've learned everything I know from his books and videos. He knows very well how to make something so simple, still sound very cool and accessible

Jeff Beck is the end all of guitar players for me. I also rank him as one of the greastest musical genuiouses of the past fifty years. I pretty much just love everything about his playing. There is man who understands electric guitar.

I've been on a very minimalist/acoutstic kick for the last year or so. My favorite guitarists are usually really good songwriters at the same time.

At the moment I'll have to go with Pete Yorn and Bob Seger. Pete Yorn was the final kicker for me buying a guitar this past June. Although his stuff is still way too complex for me, it's a goal. I am at the point now where I would be comfortable if Noel Gallagher pulled me up on stage to play a couple songs with them in an acoustic set.

One can never be too sure when this might happen, so it's best to be prepared....

another guitarest I've realy gotten into lately is Parilla de Jerez, hes just insanely fast at his thumb falsetas. whatever you call hiting both the bass and treble strings

and I forgot to mention Nino de Pura has an excellent alzapua technique and very fast picado, I only have a few of his songs on a complimation CD, and I must say ther extrodinary, but his newer solo albums I would steer clear from
