Ok I found this while looking for something else. This link is a site that has a list of toys from the 80's. http://www.inthe80s.com/toys/index.shtml. But if you have a toy from the past you loved as a child lets hear it.
I loved my Thundercats collection, He-Man action figures.

LEGOs, hell yes.
My bro and I had Ghostbusters action figures. We had the spring-loaded monsters; you pulled their heads back and they locked, then you pushed their tongues, then you screamed in pain, because the jaws snapped down on your fingers really hard. Good times.

I wasn't born until almost 1986, but my mom was always taping shows and buying stuff ahead of time, so I got caught up.
Had a bunch of Star Trek:Next Generation action figures. Geordi's frigging visor never stayed on, and Gowron's leg kept coming off, but besides that, they were pretty good.
I've got a whole bag of RE figures. The William one is sweet. I wish they made RE 3 ones; a Nemesis would rock. I have all the Aliens ones, too, with the powder blue warrior alien. Man, that was stupid.

I had a badass Skeletor figure... he went through all hell before we finally broke him. We build various things to launch him... taped firecrackers to him... froze him in a thing of water and threw him off the third floor of the apartment complex I used to live in... Good times. I also used to have an Endoskeleton from Terminator... my dad took it away before it met the same fate as Skeletor. I had a few of the old Transformers... Megatron was badass, he turned into a gun... I had a few GI Joes, but not many. Of course, I also had Legos and stuffed toys... LOTS of stuffed toys. I don't remember much else, but that's because when '92 came around I got a Genesis... it's all a blur except for Sonic. I remember how hard I thought Chemical Plant was... I blast through it now whitout any problems at all, hell, I blast through the whole game without any trouble. The Eggsterminator still kills me sometimes, but that's it. ^_^ b It's good to see how far you've come.

Well shit...there was just waaaaaaaaay too many.
I had the Ultimate Muscle figures, which were back then called Muscle Men and came in a little trash can...i remember having all the color assortments also. Thundercats...does anyone remember how you could send in some upc labels along with postage and handling and get the actual mummified Mummra action figure? Transformers...back when those fuckers were made of die-cast metal and you didnt need a bachelor's degree to transform them.
Also since i havent seen them mentioned and i used to have a shoebox full of them...Battlebeasts. I used to think that these little animalistic armorclad bastards were cool as hell...they had weapons and the greatest thing was they all had a symbol on their chest that when you put your finger on it, it displayed their elemental attribute...fire, water, and earth...which i think was represented by a log.
I also had He-man, the old ass X-men figures, DC figures and the really old and funny looking Marvel Secret Wars figures too.
However my most memorible collection was the GI Joe figs...holy shit i mustve had at least 150 of those bastards, along with vehicles too.
A friend and I actually made our own bases and would take camp in opposing corners of my room...i would be Cobra cmmd., and he was usually the Heros...mostly because Cobra had some pretty badass looking characters...and yes i had them all categorized as such and all in their own divisions....we would make our own storylines and even had music playing in the background...a little overboard maybe?...perhaps...but goddamn it was fun.
Just also want to add a big thumbs up to Star Shadow, for making these nostailgic topics, that a bunch of old schoolers can come in and all relate...even though none of us knew each other when we were young its good to know that there was all sorts of people out there that were all into most of the same shit growing up...but then again dont pay me any mind...it was my B-day yesterday and im still friggin drunk...

i still have my wrestling figures in the loft in a bin bag. ive got over 100. WWF and WCW. i used to buy one a week with my pocket money and i saved up for the ring and that. and i remember when they bought out the tag team packs. bushwackers, rockers, L.O.D..... oooh and my best mates uncle used to go to america on business and bought us back a dusty rhodes figure each. they never released that one over here.
toys will never be that cool again. i had micro machines, transformers, manta force, he-man, a-team, ghostbusters, visionaries, supernaturals, turtles, G.I Joe's, action man......
In america have they always been G.I Joe? because in england they were action force to start with.
And who ever forget those handheld LCD games? i had a box full of them. turtles ruled on that!

Are those the Visionaries toys you were talking about? They look... interesting to say the least. But, then again, it's not about how they looked, it's about how much fun you could have with them. ...and with that said I should smack myself for not thinking of these before... Army Men. Yeah, you all know what I mean, the die hard little plastic bastards that used to wage war in your room. Those things were the shit, I loved them. I used to melt them all the time... and shoot them with nail guns... the skill saw. I was really bad with most of my toys.
