because games have to have good graphics to be good don't they. well, the gameplay appeals to me, i play it for fun, not to get into the whole "community" and "whingeing" thing, so i have no idea about all the things you're talking about. it's just some harmless free enjoyment and it's more dynamic than playing some long-winded linear console rpg, so it's got my vote. each to their own

No, you don't need a logical argument to say the game sucks, but it does help when you don't want to make an idiot out of yourself.
What I can glean from you moronic arguments is that you don't like the game for no reason, except maybe it has sub-par graphics and bad gameplay.
Who cares about graphics and it obviously has deep gameplay.

the gameplay is lacking.. its not just the graphics. although they are particularly shoddy, i play many games with far worse graphics.
the system is farily low tech, and not as complex as youmake it sound. there are a hoard of other games with similar mechanics that manage to pull it off better, or more fluidly. i havent played in quite awhile, so i cant start to compare specifics, but im a online game fanatic, and it takes quite a bit to turn me off of a game like this..
and belive it or not, community is a large part of the game experince when playing online. and i have to agree with stategysmategy in some respects when he describes some of the RS playerbase. the majority of the players are immature, disrespectfull, rude, and spitefull. true all online games get this, but i find RS seems to attract them. any time i've played its gotten quite annoying when i have to deal with many of the players.
if you like RS so much, i'd suggest taking annother look at whats out there thesedays. there are quite a few very nice games with simiilar mechanics, but much much more options and gameplay features. theres even a few with half decent graphics

thankyou azgodeth for a coherent argument
the thing i like about runescape is that it's so throwaway. i personally can't be bothered getting into huge in-depth rpgs, i just want something that i can log into for a little while, do some stuff and feel like i've gotten somewhere in the short time i've played it, which runescape does for me. true, most of the people you meet on there are about 12 years old (or as one young girl informed me, 11 next month!!!) but i usually just ignore everyone else and talk to the couple of people i know
however, not being very up on the online gaming scene myself (this being the first real huge online game i've played) what games do you consider better? if i'm that rapt in runescape and it's apparently the bottom of the ladder, i'd be interested to see what else is out there
