Angry VisualBoyAdvance problems... Reply to this Post Post Reply with Quote Edit/Delete Posts Report Post to a Moderator       Go to the top of this page

I got the emulator finally, but for some reason, during Game Boy Color games it'll only run at 75% anytime I start pressing buttons. I've done absolutely everything possible to try and speed it up, but nothing works. I have a very fast computer, so that can't be the problem. Also, Game Boy Advance games seem to work mostly fine except for some bad sound emulation.

This emulator really sucks. Is there any way to get it working right for Game Boy Color games? If not, what's the top emulator out there?

I usually run my Game Boy Color roms with BGB and I can´t remmember ever having any problems with it.
Then again I haven´t used it for over a year ...

Try It out and see if it helps ...

Good Luck!

VBA is NOT your best choice for anything other than GBA games; you're not the first person that's had problems trying GBC and regular GB games on it. *raises hand*

Have you screwed around with the frame skip at all?

I used to use BGB, but it doesn't support any remotely advanced controllers. I have a top-of-the-line controller, the Logitech Dual Action (looks identical to a PS2 controller), but it won't work with BGB. All those little drop-down boxes with which you assign keys, no matter what I put them on, nothing works.

What I really don't like, though, is that so many emulators only support the analog stick. I HATE THAT THING. Those things are so crappy I can't stand them. Unfortunately, both Gens and VB force you to use the analog stick. Mad

Old thread, but I'd like to add that you might not want to run it fullscreen if it's emulating too slow on your machine. No need to try to force your hardware to do what it can't.

Hey, first let me say that I just downloaded Visual Boy Advance last night. Normally I am not into hand held type games. I had absolutely 0 problems running every GB and GBC game from this site I tried.

Here are my settings...

Full Screen 800 x 600
Frame Skip 0
Throttle Off
VSYNC on
Render Method - Direct Draw
Render Method - Direct Draw Triple Buffering
Filter - Super 2XSAI
Sound - 44KHZ

Games run smooth as silk, I couldn't possibly think it could get any better.
