ha ha seve vai?? Is there something clever about self indulgant crap!? I imagine people like him, slash, santana etc etc are the sort of people who have to play infront of a mirror to convince themselves that theyre "cool"
i had lessons for the first 5 weeks i played, and the guy who taught me told me not to come back because i played "i wanna be sedated" for a warm up. Anyone who can write and play songs as cool as the ramones is a legend. and they didnt use loads of effects! wah wah pedals are the worst invention in the world. (along with slide guitar)
Punk rock is the only true form of music. FULL. STOP.

Wah wah pedal = a tool every guitarist needs.
1. Eric Clapton
2. Joe Satriani
3. Steve Lynch

WHY? If you use effects like wah wah's then you should just cut out the middle man and play keyboard!
all these wierd effects were devised by a keyboard player who realised guitarists get more poon tang!
im not against effects. but theres only so much i can take. like an "acoustic" pedal? why why why!?!?!?

Yeah, acoustic effects are stupid.
Anyway, Kirk Hammet is definately not one of the best guitarists of all time. He's a good player, but he's not that good.

No Steve Lynch the Washington residing guitarist who created 8 finger tapping, and opened for Van Halen on numerous occasions.
Kirk Hammet is nowhere near the best guitarist of all time.

first of all, learn how to spell.
It's Jimmy Page not Paige
and it's Steve Vai, not stared vai... Also the Ramones did do some cool stuff to rock, but in the end all they could do was play bar chords. Their music wasn't anywhere near as complex as Led Zeppelin, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Stevie Ray Vaughn. You can take 3 chords and make up 10 Ramones songs, where legends study music know how theory works, Ramones aren't anywhere near the best.

Theres more fun in writing simple power chord songs than reading books on theory and writing amazingly boring fiddly noodley solos.
In 50 years people will still talk of the influence of bands like the ramones than long haired fretwankers

Heh.. I believe these 'people' you say will be talking about the influence of the ramones will be more around the description of teenage potheads who wear their ramones' shirts to school all the time..
1. John Petrucci
2. Justin King (maybe crossing a first and last name here, oh well.)
3. Satriani (I do like Vai a bit.. but am kinda turned off by his 'glam' attitude, and hell, Vai wouldn't be here if it weren't for Satch.)
