I see it as Nintendo's vague attempt to try and keep from slipping further down into the toilet so to speak. With all the new handhelds popping up they had to try something lol. And heck, you got one with a cell phone in it, others that play mp3, and some that do it all. Nintendo diffenetly that hurry up with some kind of gimick to stay in the race a little longer. You mentioned the Virtual Boy, heck why not mention the SP. That was the biggest waste of money EVER. There is no exclusing games on it etc, so basically you paid nintendo $30+ extra over an Advance for a freakin light that they have needed since the original Gameboy era but delayed to put out til now lol. . Thanks Nintendo hehe. Poor sad Nintendo, long past are the days when the game companies fell into there lap, and they barely had to work at all. I bet nintendos next system will have more games that utilize the 4 player GBA links, like in FFCC. I agree that it sucks to pay ONLINE, and that GBA-SP is the biggest WASTE OF MONEY EVER (in respects to only "folding up" and having a lit screen) how ever if you could utilize some or all of the stronger points of all the other handheld systems you'd have a freakin KICK ASS GAME but it would cost like 2 Billion dollars to develop and then $500 or more to buy... here's my take on the "PERFECT" hand held: System/Stats: GBA: 300+ games(and more comin plus all the previous 1000+ GB games are compatable). PSP: (hopefully) Plays 3-D(PSone or PS2) games. NOKIA'S N-GAGE: "Any where, any time" Multi-player. VIRTUAL BOY: Uhhhh.... i dunno cos its dead & it sucked, and PSP and N-GAGE cover its "capabilities"... COMBINE: GBA's title compatability, with PSP(or N-GAGE's) graphics, then toss in the N-GAGE's multi-player features and you got the Hybryid Handheld that the worlds been waiting for. Or at least trash it for the right reasons. First, it was never anything resembeling a handheld. You had to set it up in it's stand and plug it into an outlet to play. Only after a while was a battery pack available (still not close to being handheld). Secondly, market success shouldn't measure quality. That's self explanitory. And lastly, try it before you knock it. You cant look at them both at the same time, i cant bitch it off cause its not on the shells yet, but fuck it, ever tried looking at your pc screen and watching television at the same time, it makes your eyes crossed, I think it will be a failure.
