I cant seem get my control to work for MAME32, i pressed tab, enter etcetera but the joypad doesnt seem to work...it is a USB logitech...any ideas on how to make it work? or CAN it work? what am i missing?

did you click enable joystick in options/default options?

yes, clicked enable, works fine on other emulators...fine in control panel...cannot get anything out of it in mame...thiis poopy Frown

hmmm...it works in other emus so the driver should be OK...

try deleting MAME32, and starting from scratch:

Re-extract MAME32, then within mame32 click options/default options.

Make sure your pad is plugged in. Tap a button on the pad and then click "enable joystick input" - If its not greyed out and you are able to check the box, it means mame recognizes it is plugged in.

Open a rom, and hit tab, see if you are able to map any buttons to the pad (let me know if it allows you to map keyboard buttons if not). If it still doesn't work, try a different USB slot, close mame and try again.

PS - let me know which version of mame and which rom you are doing this in.

using MAME32v90, ROM is marvel vs capcom...had v103 but the game isnt even working on there...it allows me to map keyboard, but thats it...reinstalled it..no go...think i should just use 103 and get a clone?

might want to try it, I use v.90 and it works fine though.

I know I said this twice already, but please just confirm you have this checked off. 95% of the time someone's controllers doesn't work in mame its because they don't check off the box.

def is checked off...thats why thought i was missing something else...weird, dont know...this might be one of those things thatll drive you crazy only to find out it was something totally obvious...thanks anyway Confused Wink
