Thread: looking for a rom |

I'm pretty sure it's on genesis but it might've been on snes. Your a space ship and you have to complete different objectives to complete each individual level. For example i remeber one were a large secton of it is underwater and another where you have to pick up a bomb from one part of the level and carry it and drop it on this worm thing. Sorry i cant be more specific it was years ago that i last played it =/. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thread: ESA question |

the other day i learned something very interesting, and that is that they made a version of FF7 on the computer. Now i'm wondering if i would be able to find(or if it would even be legal) a rom of the computer version. Now honestly i'm nowhere near an expert on emulation or the tech behind it but i figure a computer game should be copiable and although i don't know the ESA'a opinion regarding copies of computer games i was wondering if finding a copy of the computer version over the web would be plausible.

I was just wondering how exactly you go about getting the PSone emulator to work. When i unzip it using winrar a bunch of individual files and when i click on them a text document comes up. I'm not exactly an expert at this if you hadn't noticed already so i'm quite confused. Perhaps o need to use a different unzipping program or something? anyway help would be appreciated.

I understand that you have to listen to there rules to be alowed to continue providing this site to us and i wasnt implying that you should commit copyright infringment or anything like that i was just questioning the reasoning behind including games that are no longer on the market and are not going to be in the foreseeable future. It just seems to be alot of trouble to block access of these games to the gaming community, and i dont see where it pays off for them except that they might put it in a collection of games eventually. For instance if they were planning too and had announced or released a playable version of the game on a more recent platform then i would understand it being protected, but otherwise it doesnt make much sense to me.
P.S. does anyone know if Saga Frontier is protected because my copies wont work on my PS2...

Thread: ESA question |
|
|
Why are they protecting games that are'nt even being manufactured anymore? For instance i had a real urge to play FF7 but my disk doesnt work on my PS2 because its fairly new(not sure if this is the reason but i assume so since a bunch of the old PSone games that worked on my old PS2 dont work on my new one)and since retail stores, at least as far as ive looked, dont even sell it anymore, and i doubt it'd matter since it probably wouldnt work anyway. So my real question is this, does this mean that a bunch of games are now near innaccessable to the public unless you go through the trouble to buy a PSone(that might not even work!) of off ebay?

I got a new computer a few weeks ago and it came with vista and in my honest opinion i don't have much of a problem with vista. Although i do prefer XP it's not to the point i would go through the trouble to change it.
