Thread: Bad ROM Download |
|

First, I have to start by saying I have a crappy dial-up connection. That being said, I just finished downloading Golden Axe - The Duel for MAME. I had to wait over 3 hours for the download to finish, just to find out it doesn't work (as in it didn't pass the MAME audit). Why? The person/people running Rom Nation are usually so vigilant about keeping the site up to snuff. I hate to come in here and complain, but it was a 3 hour wait for nothing. Can someone check into this please. I thank you for your time.

I'm trying to find out what game i used to play, but the name escapes me. now i haven't played this game in a VERY long time, and i'm a severe (former) pothead, so my memory is pretty shot, but here's all i can remember.
now first off, i don't believe this game is captain commando (or one of it's variants), as i've already seen that one, and don't think that's it, but all i can remember is it was a side scrolling fighter very much like final fight. one of the characters you could choose was a ninja. now, sadly, that's all i can remember at the moment. if nobody knows what game im talking about, i'll try to put more info in a follow-up.
bearing in mind it's taken me about a year just to remember that much (there's more to it in my head, but i cant think how to explain it in words since the game images come in brief flashes, and then they're gone before i can fully lock the image in my minds eye.
i know this isn't a lot of info, so think of it as a challenge. and if you know (or think you know), please include a screenshot in your reply, as that is the only way i'll recognize it.
thank you in advance, game masters.

http://www.romnation.net/freedompass/go....5f7425c54e6.zip is the latest link I used to download Eternal Champions - Challenge from the Dark Side (U) from the Roms>Sega CD>E section of the site. The link was used at 3:20 AM Eastern Daylight Time. The files in the zip were as follows:
Eternal Champions ISO Repack.part01.exe
Eternal Champions ISO Repack.part02.rar
Eternal Champions ISO Repack.part03.rar
Eternal Champions ISO Repack.part04.rar
Eternal Champions ISO Repack.part05.rar
Eternal Champions ISO Repack.part06.rar
Eternal Champions ISO Repack.part07.rar
Eternal Champions ISO Repack.part08.rar
Eternal Champions ISO Repack.part09.rar

Eternal Champions CD, Mortal Kombat CD to give you a couple. I've tried downloading Eternal Champions 3 different times today. Once with my download prog (which I never resumed a download with, I always started fresh), and twice with just IE. Different files within the zip had bad crc's each time, but between the 3 I was able to get all the files together (the .rar repacks), but then there were crc errors when I tried to extract the files from the .rar's.

IE 6 (I think), and if i use a client, it's Download Accelerator 7. I haven't had this problem with the other rom sections, just the Sega CD iso's. Which sucks, since the iso's are the reason I got the freedom pass.

Still, every Sega CD image I download has a crc error in it. Why do none of the files work?

Every Sega CD iso I download is damaged. When I try to extract files from the zip, it ends up with a CRC error. I payed for the ability to download these "exclusive" files, and they don't work. I want an email address to contact the webmaster and get my money back.
