Actually there were meant to be 9 movies in total. The original trilogy then three prequels and then three sequels. Lucas claims that he's now no longer interested in doing the three after the original trilogy but we'll see.

Under game options>>display>effects do you have the box marked "use scanlines" ticked?
That could explain the lines that you are seeing. Not sure about the flickering though.

Just an update to mention the new MAME emulator for the GP32 by Franxis.
MAME gp32
It emulates many of the early arcade machines very well. Bomb Jack and Wonder Boy which are two of my favourites work a treat.
Here's the list of the currently working games: Game List
A new version of the Lynx emu is now available.
Also Reesy is about to release v2 of his Megadrive/Genesis emulator. Sound is now fantastic with DAC support pretty much perfect. He's just waiting for feedback from his beta testers and then he'll release it to the public.

Yup I'm loving my GP32. SNES is the major flaw I hope someone takes the project back up again soon, but DrMD is a superb Megadrive emulator.
Plus with the promise of two new MAME emulators which will be capable of emulating a lot of the earlier arcade games things are looking good.
Franxis is expected to release his MAME emu to the public on Sunday. List of compatible games
I expect it will be buggy at first but who can resist portable Bomb Jack.

Sounds like it could be Wonder Boy in Monster World.

* Wonder Boy
* Bubble Bobble
* Final Fight
* Puzzle Bobble
* The Simpsons
* Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
* APB - All Points Bulletin
and captain_pants Pac-Land is definatly worth a mention.

The versions available on Romnation work fine in MAME 0.90u1 but only the one listed by Robbert has sound.

Nah, if you are into them now then you'll always love games. Maybe your cousin wasn't really that crazy about games and played them more as a fad thing. I've had friends that played games to beat their siblings and that's about it, but then I've got a co-worker in their late 40s who's recently got into 3D platform games and is always telling me how they beat this level or that boss.
The only difference when you get older is that you'll have less and less time to play them but because you now have more money you'll own more games than you had as a kid but no time to play.

This is an interesting site that has converted various arcade games plus a lot of games from Nintendo and Sega into online Java games. Some games have sound and/or speed issues but it's still an interesting site:

In MAME32 they appear in the non-working section so I guess they haven't fully emulated these games yet.

8:3 format means that the name has eight characters and the extension is three characters so The Legend of Zelda could be renamed to tlozelda.smc or .zip depending on whatever file format the emulator uses.

Try one of the metal slug series. I'd never tried the game until the millions of questions on here about getting it working finally made me look and see what they were all so eager to play.
Also if you haven't already get the turtles games.
