SSF runs everything I've ever tried on it. Shining Force 3, Panzer Dragoon Saga, NiGHTS into Dreams, and a few others.
It requires a fast processor though, and it has to be SSE (or was it SSE2?) enabled.

That's because MAME doesn't emulate it perfectly. The game still works great though, full speed and everything.

Thread: Shining Force CD - corrupt |

It is, but unfortunately nobody here can do anything about it, and the Shining Force corruption is well known. There are a few other well known Sega CDs also corrupted, but the specific ones escape me at the moment.
Most people are being referred to Emuasylum, and I know that SFCD is available there among others.

MAME is software emulated, your video card is irrelevant. It's probably because your processor isn't good enough.

SFEx runs fine on my laptop. Your processor probably sucks.

They seem to have a pretty high compatibility, I believe it works on all the games I've played.
I don't keep track though. I installed it, but I rarely pay attention to scores anyway. It's just interesting that they're retained like a real arcade cabinet that hasn't been shut down over night, so when I go to play again my initials are still up there.
An online feature would be really cool. MAME could send the score data to a server, and check that server every time a game is loaded. That way it would be more like a real arcade where your initials aren't the only ones on the board. They'd have to make certain it was incompatibile with cheat.dat though.

Weird, I already had that file with all the other Outrun sets and it had never worked before.
And Robotron is working now too.

Yes, download hiscore.dat and extract it to your MAME directory. That instructs MAME to store score data in a /hi directory.

Thread: HELP! mame not running at all! |

There's no reason it shouldn't work, MAME doesn't use the registry. Everything is stored in a .ini with individual .cfg files for games.
Ensure that you're deleting the entire directory. Otherwise there's something else that's causing MAME to not work.

I'm not certain if a romset for Outrun exists, I have yet to see one even on sites with complete and updated romsets with CHDs.

MAME supports save states. For example, there's an option to save a state whenever quitting a game which will be resumed when you next load it up.

Yes, it's a conspiracy against you both to make your MAME roms not work. We could tell you how to make them work, but then we'd have to kill you.

MAME sets default game settings, and each game can store individual settings. Obviously you have one of those two games set to a rotation.

I see. And besides magical bandwidth capabilities, what else did Santa bring you last Xmas?
If you have a high speed connection, you're best off serving an FTP off your PC. Download any given FTP server software and set it up, it's easy and secure and your Geocities site won't go down after the first hundred megabytes of transferred data.
