Thanx.

Better than having to go through the video and use the screenshot+frame advance option for the entire thing, THEN start over and do a WAV dump, THEN run each frame through Photoshop Elements to convert them to JPEG format, THEN assemble the whole thing in Virtual Dub, which was what I thought I was going to have to do before I decided to ask here. >_<

Does anyone know an easy way to convert the movie files created by ZSNES into .AVI format, or even Quicktime .MOV format?

I just think there should be a notation with the rom that says it won't work on newer versions of Snes9x. Actually, I switched emulators because a) I wanted something that would still work if I was at some point forced to upgrade to a Windows version higher than 98SE, and b) the sound fades away after a while if I'm running games in DOS. This happens on both of the 98 systems in this house (mine and my brother's) and I don't know why.

The Sonic 1 & Knuckles "Echidna Hack" on the site just gives me a "No Way! No Way!" screen when I try to run it.

BOF2 Bleu 08-17-2006 11:05 Forum: Console Gaming and Emulation

Some people may have some trouble getting Bleu in Breath of Fire 2. Here's how to get her:

Once you have access to the whale, go here
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v260/deathwish01b/mugen/mappity1.jpg

Talk to all the ghosts there, then have Jean warp you to HomeTown. Head into M. School and go upstairs. In the left-hand (<-) classroom, talk to the students. One of them will reveal herself to be Bleu, and she will join your party. She's at Level 35 already, so she's got a lot of useful spells, including Warp, so you no longer need to use Jean to do anything other than swim in shallow water that the Whale can't get into. If you use the game genie code that multiplies experience so you can level her up to 99, all of her stats except Guts and I think Luck will be set to the system max (511 for Agility, 255 for everything else).

A lot of FAQs mention her, but they're all text-only for the most part, so you don't have that little map there.

I hope this helped somebody.

Breath of Fire 2 Hack doesn't work in snes9x 08-17-2006 10:34 Forum: Console Gaming and Emulation

There is a hack of Breath of Fire 2 where you open with a menu that lets you select things like always having 9,999,999 gold on hand, unlimited HP, unlimited AP, and so on. It worked when I was on ZSNES, but on Snes9x the gold option starts you with lots of gold, but you're back to zero when you put it in the bank. Also, saving at dragon statues and churches doesn't work.

It's no biggie IMNSHO, but my brother's really ticked off about it. He likes the cheatie menu. In fact, most of the time he's on the internet is spent looking for game genie codes and other cheats.

error 500 07-09-2005 09:34 Forum: Support

When I try to vote on "Vote #1" link to download a rom, I get "error 500." I don't know what that means, but I checked and I do have cookies enabled. I can vote on site #2 just fine.

I don't know if the issue with Site #1 will prevent me from downloading (working) roms or not, but I really don't feel like spending 2 hours downloading Marvel vs. Capcom only to find out the file's corrupt through no fault of my own.

I started with the sprites of his hair blowing in the wind from Megaman 2, turned the hair red and added shades, then I pasted the head on a whole bunch of Mega Man's action poses, edited the body, and jacked some Robot Master weapon-sprites.

The harpoon and his flying Wing (that jet-looking sled thing) were done by hand, er, mouse.

will it work if I put a batch file in the mame directory that reads "mame lastblad -nosound" (my soundcard doesn't work)?

(yes, I already put the bios files in the roms folder, still zipped up like the instructions say)

I haven't done any on this site (yet), and usually it's in response to someone else's flame on me.

Oh, and DUE NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT I WILL FORWARD A COPY OF ANY INSULTING E-CARDS TO THE SENDER'S EMAIL PROVIDER.

I've gotten sick of people who can't flame by themselves sending me that flame-a-friend crap in my email, because every time someone does that it seems to triple the amount of spam I get. That's why I have separate email accounts, three for general stuff (because when I created them there was only 2mb of space), and one that's only for correspondence with people I've known for a long time.

Personally, I like to turn on Headstrong by Trapt, or pretty much anything by Insane Clown Posse or Eminem, if I'm flaming.

It rocked.

I try not to resort to high-level obscenities when flaming, especially if there's a more intelligent way to say it. Try using "Oedipus" instead of "Motherfucker." It means the same, you save 5 keystrokes, and it gets past auto-censor features on many message boards.

As for the original topic of replies to "gay," try "That's not what your mama said" or "You know, talking to yourself only works if other people can't hear you."

One of my friends was asked "What are you, some kinda queer?" To which he replied "Why? You looking for a date?"

And, to the person who posted "gay isn't the worst thing you could be called," all I can say is that there was a time (and it will probably come again if the Right Wing has its way) when the mere accusation of being gay, a Pagan, a heretic, dressing like the opposite gender, or having lost your virginity before marriage, could get you burned at the stake (but not before the Inquisitors tortured you into implicating some of your friends and neighbors).

Transformers were my big thing (I still have Runamuck or Runabout, whichever was the black one). Whatever I had left of Powermaster Optimus Prime (probably just the tractor, trailer and his Powermaster head) got lost when we moved to the new house, along with all my Micromasters. We still have Hound and Mirage, but they don't have their tires (seems like the tires on those Transformers are always the first to disappear, even before the weapons). Most of them were thrown outside by my siblings (and then run over by my dad's lawnmower), or confiscated by teachers and school administrators who probably sold them, because I sure as hell didn't get them back at the end of the year.

After Transformers, it was Ninja Turtles. Raph and Mike were the only Turtles we ever got, in their various permutations (unless you count Metalhead). Had a combat-crawlin' Splinter who kept coming apart at the waist, and a bunch of enemies who never (at least from what I saw) appeared in the show, like that chef dude whose foot (a pizza cutter slicing into a pizza box) was interchangeable with his weapon (a meat cleaver). We had the Mutations versions of Mike and Raph, and stuffed versions with wires in their arms and legs to pose their little stubby arms in not-so-threatening positions. Both of the stuffed ones lost their masks, and Mikey got too close to a heater and it turned a patch of fuzzy cloth at the top of his head the same brownish-orange color as the carpet we had. My nephew now has my stuffed Mikey, not because I GAVE it to him or anything, but because he took it out of my room and cries whenever he catches me with it.
