Thread: What's the deal with the 7z format?? |
|
|
Another good way to clear up the 7-zip mess is to take all the files, create a new .zip file (or WinRAR archive, whichever your computer has), drag all the files you got from the extracted 7-zip into the new compressed folder, and put it in your SNES emulator's ROM section.
The only problem with this method is knowing in advance what to name the new folder you've assembled before you drag the files into it so SNES9X or ZSNES will recognize the ROM. Take my translated version of Tales Of Phantasia, for instance--
Tales Of Phantasia (J) [T-Eng1 (1).2 Dejap].zip
Of course, not all of them have all that crap. But if a game starts with the word "the" it's got to be named: "Lion King, The"
Hope this all makes sense!

IGN has a lot of boards. They have them related to gaming, girls, and other techy shit. A good part of it is, you're bound to find a board related to almost every game/console that has ever been, so whatever you're in the mood for at the time, you can talk about it with someone.
The bad part about it is, you have to pay to become an 'insider' to use such things as avatars, HTML mark-up (the [/game over] stuff). Which is kind of ridiculous. The only reason I've got an insider account there is because some good soul adopted me, lol.
If you're into Tomb Raider games, there's a UK site that's pretty good called Planet Lara.
And if you're into NES games: http://www.nesfiles.com --this one's pretty slow, only about two people post there, but they've updated their forum software (!!!), so there may be new members soon.
The rest of them I can think of at the moment are pretty slow, almost no traffic.

Let say, that we all continued supporting this Forum and this site (with all the ignorance from Anile)
What will happened if:
If this Forum get hacked again (As it has been done before by that turkish guy)
OR
Anile let this site expired (As one of my good friends gussed)
You will NEVER see it again! and I'm sure of it... |
Sad to say, but you're probably right. Maybe Anile stopped caring when people stopped buying those "freedom passes?" I seem to remember a post awhile back where all the ROMS on the site were free now.
If that's the case, he could always ask for donations. RetroRoms does, and they seem to maintain a good site because of it.

Done; I guess everyone knows my username after the fiasco yesterday, lol. I got the YouTube invite emails this morning.
Although I don't have any 'videos to share!' My computer's barely capable of producing web pages, let alone videos.

Thread: Problems with game downloads |
|
|
Hi, KateSun.
Is 7-zip the program you're talking about? All the SNES ROMS here require that to unzip them so the ZSNES emulator will recognize them.
If it didn't show up on your desktop, it may be here: Click your hard disk C and then program files. If you did save it to your desktop and the .exe isn't there, try downloading it again.
Hope this helps and isn't too confusing! After you find the 7-zip, let us know and we'll let you know how to use it to unzip the ROM and make ZSNES play it.

Thread: Looking for a galspanic type game with pics of real gals, wich could it be? |
|

There's so many games that fit that description that it's hard to say which one it is. Here's some titles to see if any sound familiar:
*Fantasia
*Fantasy '95
*Excelsior
*Honey Dolls
*Las Vegas Girl
*Miss Bubble
*Miss World Nude '96
*Wonderstick
Also, when in doubt, you can go to MAWS, type "Mature" in the search box, and there'll be a ton of pages of games with a mature theme, see if one of those rings a bell. You may have to sift through a lot of Mahjong titles to find it, but it's probably there if I didn't guess it.

Exactly. And also, some people still have crappy slow PC's like myself; the games may run faster on PS2. While my CPU's fast enough for NES and SNES, it lags with MAME.
I've been researching this for awhile now, and it seems you have to tear apart your PS2 to put in a mod chip. Which, unfortunately, isn't going to happen, the last time I tried any PS2 'maintenance' (cleaning the lens because my wife smokes and it plays hell with every laser appliance in our house), the data ribbon broke and I had to get a new one.

Thread: What did you all get for Christmas? |
|
|
I got for Xmas:
*A check that immediately had to go into savings.
*Two half hams, this friend of ours must think we're starving.
*A few used games--Bully, .hack Infection (I'd already played this series before, but I'd borrowed 'em from a friend, nice to have the beginning of the games for my own).
*Codebreaker for PS2, just to unlock that damn Flapping Duster in the Gallery Of Time in Dark Cloud, the US version has a bug where it won't show up without a cheat device.
And, a friend of mine is coming over today with more, he's usually pretty generous, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Crap. Wound up getting some $$ from my Aunt, but my guitar amp died so I have to save every penny I get now to replace it.
Every time I think I'm getting remotely close to getting a new console, something else happens. I missed out on the Saturn, N64, and a lot more for similar reasons.

That's probably the best policy, until the forum software is updated. However, if the perp is nailed, please 'confiscate' his drugs; seems like he's on some good ones.
BTW, I wonder if publicly talking about the vulerabilities in the software is a good idea, as it's just inviting more of the same from more obnoxious dorks?
@ rumblerosefan: blocking IP addresses is all well and good, but they can just get another one. As Hitokiri said, what this place really needs is an activation email process or something similar, and maybe a limitation on posts for teh n00bs.

It would seem so.
I can't believe I forgot about Led Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix, that 1983 song of his is amazing. That'll show me for posting so early in the morning.

LOL!!
I sent that to my friend, and I should have predicted that he'd heard 'em all before, and then some:
You forgot the iBoob.
Apple Computers announced today that it has developed a computer chip that can store and play music in women's breast implants. The iBoob will cost between $499 and $599. This is considered to be a major breakthrough, because women are always complaining about men staring at their breasts and not listening to them.
Thanks to Apple, everyone is now happy.

Sure you can, as long as you have a USB joypad and your CPU recognizes it.
Click -->Option on the Gens toolbar, click ---> joypads. For player one, click the "Redefine Keys" box. It will then tell you to enter the command for up, down, A, B, C buttons, etc.
