Did you try looking for Fruit Machines Emulators and Roms? I know that I have seen them here and there, but don't remember exactly where. So again.. Google is your friend. As for true Slot Machine Roms, I do not believe that you can find those yet, at least I have not seen anything that is current.
Since I do not believe that any of the current set of slot machine roms have been emulated at all, I know that I was looking for the Monopoly Slot Machine Rom, the quarter one. And I have not been able to do that at all, as it is not available.
So that is the best that I can tell you to do...

Umm.... I think there is one thing that you are not doing... you have the resolution set to AUTO.. well, change that out, do something manual in there. And you will get to change the refresh rate.. it's there. I do promise, and when you change the resolution, you can change the refresh.
I promise that when you change the resolution, you will be able to manually set the refresh rate.

Hello there,
Well.. I said that I was going to take a break, and keep off here for a while, but here I am again, with a lost soul, that needs help with Mame32 V0.103 which is currently 19 versions behind, but as I understand it, you unzipped the Mame32 file, into the Mame directory which it created, and then you downloaded several roms, and have tried to make them work. I will say that you have to download the parent roms for the games to work. They are the larger of the files when it comes to the zips normally. I have noted that you downloaded the parent of Ghouls and Ghosts, but if I recall that takes a BIOS, and you can find those here as well. When you put the zipped files into the "ROMS" directory and then do a full audit, it should show up in the available game area. If you need a BIOS or a parent rom, you should look for those. It's a bit confusing if you are not used to it, but if you read the link that I have posted here, it might explain things a bit easier for you.
And, if you have any more questions, I would ask you to use the right section here on this board, it's called the SUPPORT forum, and please read the sticky there, in regards to the Support Forum guidlines, it's the top of the list there, and it explains everything that we will need from you.

Also, I believe that you have to have the main rom file, and the actual game is not working, if I remember correctly, and you have to play a clone. And the game still works, so if the main one is not working, and I believe that it is still one in progress, then play one of the clones, and you will find it is the same game, with no real problems.
And there is no CHD file, as the game was rom based. So it sounds as if you have some other issues going on.
What version of Mame are you using? And exactly which error are you seeing. I know that with Mame32 v0.121 I have no problems running the game. And yes, I know I'm a version and a update or 2 behind at this point.

Just to let you know, I will be away from RN for a while. Congrats to the new mods, and do a good job. If you need me, I will pop thru to check things, and if you look for me, look at my UserCP or contact Jp or EK... either one of them can get a hold of me. I can still assist with missing Roms, and things, but I am going to take it a bit easy, and chill. So.. with that.. again congrats to the new mods, and I am outta here.

Now that is a good bit of information. I'm glad that you got him, and that you are following up on all matters with him. And now it's time for all people to take the action to report this spamming to the proper ISP. This way they will ban him from arriving here, and there are serious consequences for this type of behavior on the net.

Hello there visitor to RN.
Well, firstly I will apologize to you for finding our forums under attack again from a problem. Normallly our forum areas are not this backed up with pointless threads of a spammer, but today and for the last 3 days we have had this same problem. I will be giving a add-on to the Admin of this site that will allow the IP address of the person which has been attacking this site to be seen and tracked. At which point I am sure that some legal or civil action will be taken against this individual.
So if you have come here, and found this area a bit bare of information, or support, please filter thru the garbage that is here, it will be cleaned up when the mods come on and clean out the forum again, and we will return to normal again. I promise you all that there is good information on this site, and the members which are active will help you as best we can. SO be paitent. We will fix it, we will answer your questions, and we will be more then happy to help you.

All I had to do when I started up Area51 was turn on the mouse support in the options screen. I didn't play with the options at all inside of the game. If you just turn it on the mouse support, I think that you will find that the game runs just find, it seems to work on most of the "light gun" games, and I haven't had any problems with it at all. I never tinker with the controls after the game is running, if I can get the mouse to work, or the joystick to work without the problem.
Mame32 allows you to turn that on outside of the game and is the front-end that I use, and I never really have to touch things once I get that running. So there is a quick answer for you, just try that out and see if it works.

Wow... I just looked back at the old news archives, and the last update was 2005?? It's been almost 3 years now since the Roms were updated here. What does it take to update the sets? I would be willing to do what I can to update the sets as possible, and do what I can to help get it back to what it should be, avoiding the ESA protected titles of course. Soo.. if anyone reads this that can give a shout back, lemme know, and I'll do my best to help out in regards to rebuilding the sets we have to the current version of 0.122 and do something about including the updated stuff as well.
Just wow.. that long.. who would think that? 3 years since a update of the current romset here at RN. BTW for those of you wondering.. it's Mame 0.90 that is the current version available here.

Ok, so I have read all the posts here, and while I can say that I do support this type of idea, and I would back the two nominee's up, there is one overlying problem here that will remain, and I hate to say this, so Anile, don't take it personal. But you have almost taken a complete hands-off attitude toward the site and the members that are still here, and yes, as you can see the members do grow, just slightly, and the older members continue to fall-off. We have no real way to update the Rom Sets, and I have access to update roms at other sites all the time, so this is no real problem to me, but it can be for those that are trying to keep there sets up to date, and there has been no updates for a long while now. This takes the traffic once again off this site, and makes the members which are joining go elsewhere. There are a number of us that are here, that still support this site, I am here almost everyday, and I'm one that answers questions over in the support forum area, and one that has to deal with the issues and the problems that are here, and as the site admin, I feel to a extent that you should address some of the issues that are discussed by the members. And with the spammers, the sql errors, the site crashes, and all the other problems that are going on, I would ask that you do put more admin on this site, it's a pain to get anywhere when the features continue to die, and more errors become a problem.
So, the support to the nominee's.. and a wish that you take a more hands on approach to your site there Anile. When I joined it was a good time, and I'm not saying that it isn't, but damn, lets get up to date, and on task for a change.

Well.. I logged into my Email and there was a Email message to me about the Simpson's Bowling game. Now I don't mind getting Email from people, but when it comes to the Support areas here, I am a little shocked.
#1. Please remember that we all need to know what you are trying to do with the game.
#2. If you have downloaded Simpson's Bowling for Mame or any type of Mame system you will need a specific file to run it. That file is a .CHD file. This file is VERY important to run that game.
#3. No, RM does not and I do mean this, does not host a CHD area, due to the very large size of the files.
#4. Google is your friend when it comes to the CHD files.. Look em up and you wil find them.
#5. When you find them, and you put the CHD file where it belongs you will find a ERROR in the EPOMS as you attempt to boot that up.
#6. When you get to that point let me know and I will get you the information, or I think there is a forum on it here on RM.
That's IT! I'm done.. and that is the help that I can give to you right now, and remember that CHD file based programs are a bit laggy, so speed issues can not be addressed here.
So! That being said, good luck, good hunting and god's speed.

Well... there is a easy way to do things.. all we have to do is get a drive going on to get some new forum software.. since it's a few bucks. Hell I'd kick in a few dollars for it, rather then have the on-going problems of "Sorry! It's not here!" or the forever failing features.. and we'll have problems all over the place. So what can we do? Unless someone has a copy of the forum software just laying around with a license they want to give up! LOL
Ok.. so what say we as a group?? That is the best way I can think of doing things.. a little donation, and here we go.. new software.. less headaches.. and oh yah.. can we say new features??
