I never bothered with .hack. Man, a period looks weird after that. Anyway, I saw the first anime series, and that just destroyed any interest I had in it.
As far as series go though, my favorite all 'round series is Suikoden. Even the "bad" games in the series are pretty good. 1, 2, and 5 are the absolute best.
Breath of Fire is usually good, but I still haven't played the fifth. BoF 4 had to have been the best. Man, I loved the story, but especially the graphics. I just have a thing for sprite graphics, I prefer them over rpg's that try to look too real.
Man, get me started on rpg's and I'll never shut up.
Oh, and yeah, Dark Cloud 3 is going to rock...but I haven't seen any news on it either...

I never actually played the first one, but Dark Cloud 2 was great. I loved the gameplay, and the ability to create your own towns, etc. I must've spent hours gathering resources to build up the last town (just for cosmetic effect, I already had all the necessary buildings/formations). Weapons building and item creation were fun too. Story wasn't amazing though.
The only thing I truly didn't like about it was Monica's monster transformation. Absolutely useless. I'd accidently activate it and flail on the buttons trying to switch back before I got slaughtered.

Chrono Trigger, I must've played that game through at least 100 times. The only game where I've bothered to level characters up to level 99, get every ending, etc. Though, I have to say, Xenogears and suikoden 2 come in very close.
But yeah, ActRaiser rocks. Simplified Sim-City with rpg and side-scrolling battles thrown in. The best of everything.

Yeah, I've never had a problem with youtube. It's always worked fine for me, but like Toximoron, I've never uploaded.
But yeah, I can understand the comments problem. People can be huge pricks, and they don't seem interested in solving the problem of insulting/degrading posts and their posters. Whenever I look at a video's comments 1 out of 3 is just a baseless bash.

Good luck with Seventh Saga. Pretty much the only way to play is by cheating. If you just type Game genie codes into google there are a bunch of sites with game genie collections. Some games never got game genie codes, though...
I still want an invincibility one for Metal Warriors 2

Thanks, found out everything I needed to know.
Apparently I just need a (U) or (4) and a [!] in the title and I'm set.

Advent Children was pretty, but the story wasn't all that great. But most people (myself included) wouldn't care. They're just watching to see the old ff7 gang back again and kicking ass. And it did it beautifully.
Oh, and with the whole Phoenix Down thing, they have not only the item, but the story loophole where someone will die anyway. If someone dies in a cutscene, they're gone for good. It's an old, old joke that most gamers make fun of constantly. For example:

I'll give it a try. I just went to the Gamefaqs Genesis RPG section and looked up a bunch of titles there.
But now I have another question. What to all the [] things mean in the genesis roms section. Like for Shining Force there's a [!], [h1], [o1], and [o2] download. What is the difference, and do I only need one, or do I need all of them?

Heh, I don't know about what all is going on online, your post just reminded me of the first and only time I ever tried to play online.
I start my own little channel/game/whatever up so I could do some leveling, almost immediately I'm joined by random people trying to get me to trade with them. When I told them I had absolutely nothing since I had just started, they started making threats and talking trash. And that's when I swore off online gaming.

Do you have a previous save? You can always try that area again. Of course, most of the times I have problems getting through an area or event, it's because there's one stupid little npc I skipped over.

Well, we did snes rpgs, and that was an easy one for me, I've played most of them. Unfortunately I never tried out the Genesis rpgs, and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. I know Shining Force is supposed to be good, and some other one whose name I've forgotten, but what else is out there?
Oh, and does anyone know anything about panzer dragoon orta? That's supposed to be an rpg, right? What system was it on? Is it even possible to emulate? People who played it seem to have loved it, but I really know nothing about it.
And last but not least, does anyone have a recommendation on which emulator to use for genesis?

Lufia and the fortress of doom is the first lufia I think...It's alright, but not as good as lufia 2.
FF Mystic Quest is actually pretty bad. It's like a basic beginner's rpg with bad graphics.
FF 2+3 are both good, depending on who you talk to; one or both are generally in people's top rpg lists.
Final Fantasy Super Nintendo? I have no idea what that is.
Knights of the Round and King of Dragons are both just sidescroller beat 'em-ups, but both are fun.
Glad to see the list helps.

Yeah, a lot of games really are easier nowadays, but sometimes you can change that by going up a difficulty level. It used to be that I had to play most games on easy, nowadays a game on normal mode plays like a game on easy. Especially Kingdom hearts 2. Waaaaaaay to easy on normal.
I think the major reason is because they realize most of their customers aren't the "dedicated players" they used to have back in the day that memorized the fastest routes and secrets in games. As video games increased in popularity, they realized most of their customers are casual gamers and therefore make their games with casual gamers in mind. A game that's too hard won't sell, 'cause no one wants to take that much time to figure out how to play a game well when there are so many other games to choose from.

Wow, that's a MAJOR improvement. Thanks a ton man, that's makes the games look about ten times better. I don't know how I played without these settings.

What are filters and how do I use them? I tried looking through the video settings area, etc. and couldn't find anything.

No problem, man.
I actually just thought of another good rpg:
Tales of Phantasia
It'll also need an english patch.
Heh, just in case anyone cares about this thread still, or for people who will want to use for future reference, I just remembered another awesome RPG;
Live a Live It also needs an english patch. Fun game full of short episodes with an amazing ending I never saw coming. HIGHLY recommended.
Okay, I think these will be the last two. I just stumbled upon my old emulating folder that contained all sorts of games I forgot about.
Ogre Battle I still have no idea how to play this game, but a lot of people love it, so it can't be all bad.
Romancing the Three Kingdoms 3 Or something like that. Final Fantasy type game with tons of playable characters. I never really gave it a chance, but it seemed like fun. Again, it needs an english patch.
By the way, just for future reference, when I say it needs an english patch, a lot of these games come pre-patched from the download source.
Two more I just remembered
Earthbound (kiddish but fun)
Treasure Hunter G (Again, needs an english patch)
AAAAH!!! Of course I just had to remember one more:
Secret of Evermore
Basically a secret of mana game, but not really set in that world or anything. No english patch necessary, this one was actually released in the US.

Well, I just got a game controller (some games you just can't play on a keyboard). Unfortunately I'm having a minor difficulty with some of the control options. When I go into player1 controls in the options menu (tab), it still has buttons 1+2 on the keyboard instead of on the gamepad. When I try to fix this it just doesn't do anything. Any ideas?

Hey, I was just wondering what the best setup for Zsnes is. I'm not sure if there is a way to improve upon the emulation graphics or not, but it all seems a lot less smooth than I remember it.
I put it on the best resolution [as far as I know(1280X1024 DR FULL)], but it really doesn't seem all that much better than the lower resolutions. Is there any way to get these games to look as good as they did on a tv, or am I just remembering them looking better than they actually did?
