Yeah, I already updated that; the emulator wasn't showing up at all before I updated DirectX.

Ok, try to change the emulator that you're using (Maybe it's an update on the emulator or something)..... check those:
CPS3 Emulator v1.0a
CPS3 Emulator Preview 3 Test version

Thanks for the suggestions, but neither of those worked, either. It's my CPU, I'm afraid, which I'm about to heave out a 20-story window; GARRAAAAHHHH! Evil Frown Crying Red Face

i used the search function but probably nobody has such a noobish problem :o

everything works! original version, japan no cd, netplay almost lag free and so on....BUT only on my laptop. so everything is working on my laptop but when i tried to copy the "rom" data from my laptop (where everything works) to my stationary PC, wheter the original US version nor the japan no cd version works.

PC: original version : chd missing, us.bin blahblah missing. but the files are there correctly, everything works on my laptop.

PC: japan no cd: all files missing.

i can´t understand that so ´cause everything works fine on my laptop.

tried refreshing (F%), deleted the options/rom directory, restart, inserted the directory but nothing helps....all correct files needed are there.....

? x.x ?

-----edit: deleted the rom data again and copied everything part by part, inserted the chd, fixed the japan version thingy and so on. everything works fine now, laptop and pc. still no clue what went wrong in first :o
and sorry for my lousy english ^^

I'm running it on the cps3emulator fine, except the sprites aren't showing up. What could cause this?

Strange, I found a topic on the Nebula homepage where someone was having the same trouble I am with the CPSIII emulator:
Unable to find appropriate zbuffer format
Unable to initialize video subsystem
And they where running Windows XP, so I'm assuming now it's not my ancient computer. But no one there had any answers for that person, either.
Stange that they don't know what's going on with their own emulator! Roll Eyes

Do you have a spare $100-$249 to give me for an XP or Vista program? If not, STFU. Evil

  RE: $post[posttopic]

EDIT POST:
couldnt get it working with mame 32, downloaded 0.118.2 and it works

why not mame 32?????

Posted by $posts[username] on 09-10-2007 at14:46:

All MAME is called MAME 32 (except for Kariella, but that's a different issue), the numbers after 32 are just the version numbers.
If you had a build of MAME with a number before, I believe, 116, none of the CPSIII games will work because they didn't have the driver for these games implemented yet.

Posted by $posts[username] on 09-11-2007 at20:00:

No, all MAME is not called MAME32. MAME32 is the gui version. Regular MAME is a command line program.

Btw, the thing with an old Win98 PC. If it's that old, I doubt changing the OS would make a difference there because it probably is slow and has low RAM. Some games like CPS3 use up a lot of resources and you pretty much need a newer computer with decent VRAM and RAM.

anyone got any ideas?

Well, from the looks of your first screen cap there, you've unzipped the SFIII ROM. I believe this emulator is like MAME, you have to leave the ROM zipped up inside your ROMS folder.
Try this and see if it works.

Posted by $posts[username] on 10-12-2007 at00:27:

Hey man..check out step 5 of this tutorial. You need to download the missing file and add it to the zipped rom.

CPS 3 Tutorial - Street Fighter III/ Warzard Fool Proof Set Up

The ROM MUST BE ZIPPED. All of the files for it must be in one zipped folder.

I have a question about SFIII Second Impact. In that game running it under that excellent CPS3 emulator, some of the character colours seem screwed up, particularly on Sean and Ken. Is this a bug or is it meant to be like that? Anyone know?

As a side note, how great is it to finally have SFIII emulated? I've been waiting for this for ages! Big Grin

Posted by $posts[username] on 10-16-2007 at00:25:

Can anyone shed any light on this?

Posted by $posts[username] on 10-16-2007 at01:39:

Can you post a screen print? I'm not sure what you mean by screwed up. I noticed Ken looks unusually tan compared to the PS2 version, but nothing too bad. I am just glad its finally decrypted!

Posted by $posts[username] on 10-16-2007 at10:54:

Sure thing. This is Sean for example in 2nd impact when selected using light punch button. Colours are fine in the other two versions though...
