Battle Beasts. Unfortunately, the only place I've ever seen them is on Ebay and they're ridiculously expensive.

Well I was looking for something for a thread and then I was fliping back to MSN and AOL checking webpages, and then I was reading Greymalkin's post and she mention something about a old toy. And at the same time I was on a webpage with stuff from the 80's, so her post and the webpage that I was on made it happen. So you can thank her too. Wink

Holy fuck Captain Pants busted out the Visionaries!
I had a few of them but didnt include them because i forgot what they were called....
And the Supernatruals...i think i remember them...may have them confused with something else.

I remember these ones that...well they looked really strange to say the least...they actually had an ignition wheel from a lighter in their backs...and it flipped out to reveal a small metal cylinder that you put an actuall peice of flint in...and when you struck it like you would a lighter...it would of course spark, and something would light up.
Then after awhile the figures themselves would smell like flint smoke.
One in particular was an orangeish elf whose chest would light up...heh heh, the toys are all about safety now...i remember back when the little spring loaded missle launchers atop GI Joe vehicles would hit the wall on the other side of the room...now...they like cover a square foot.

And yes Grey...Battlebeasts are retartedly expensive on Ebay...i saw a set of 12...no weapons, and non boxed...$72.

x_X Those... must be some damn awesome Battle Beasts, pre-packaged with 133t ninja shit or something. It's sad when people get away with charging that much for old toys... but, what can you do? You know what I used to love? Battle Builders; they weren't from the 80s to my knowledge, but I had a blast with them.

That little Black kid from captin planet got the short straw didnt he! All the others had cool rings earth, fire, wind and water and he gets heart! not realy as cool. He did however have a monkey so it wasnt all bad.
As for toys lego was awesome, a box of lego and some fireworks, ur older cousin got for you, was a combination that still cant b beat. Btw now bangers are a bit lame i suggest airbombs.......... how i still have all my fingers is a mystery! Big Grin

Along with M.A.S.K. and Bandai's Gundam Action Figures, Legos have to be the coolest toys ever made. My brother and I had a bunch of the Medieval sets when we were kids. Too bad they are so expensive or else I'd probably still be spending my money on them.

mask was awesome! i never had boulder hill though. my neighbours had it and it was cool. i had the venom helecopter though.

can anyone name this toy?

ok, it was he-man and i think it was a baddie. you got a box of little red pieces, ie. legs, arms, heads, torsos etc. that you put together any way you wanted because in the cartoon it used to change shape. i think i remember it always having 2 heads. it wasent "2 bad" because that was a noral figure with two heads.

Hey Captain...uh...i definately know the one youre talking about...
his name is Moduluk and i used to have him, but i forgot all about him. He was one of the newer bad guys...heh heh...remember the line that had that bat symbol?
There was that leech guy that you pressed the button on his back and his mouth was a suction cup...then that one named grizzly or something that was a big mass of brown fur with legs and arms...

Posted by $posts[username] on 03-18-2005 at20:14:

THATS HIM!!! thats the coolest thing in the world! the furry guy your talkin about? was it "beast man?" i know the guy your talkin about because my cousin split somethin on it and its fur went all sticky!

battle beasts? would i be right in thinking they squirted water? or was that somethin else?

who remembers my pet monster?

Posted by $posts[username] on 03-18-2005 at22:27:

Yeah i kindof thought that red bastard was him, but no Beastman was that orange mandrill on crack. The guy im talking about was grizzlor i think his name was but heres a pic...the bitch looks like a fucking hairy potato...wtf? Do you remember them though...they were a different set of enemies other than Skeletor's gang...and their leaders name was...Hordak!(lmao)

Posted by $posts[username] on 03-19-2005 at00:56:

I didn't have My Pet Monster, but I remember him, vaguely, probably from TV. I had Monster In My Pocket. Had the whole set until my dog ate Godzilla and Catoblepas (I think that was its name).

Posted by $posts[username] on 03-19-2005 at01:21:

I remember those, in fact, I still have them, the hairy guy has a green crossbow which can shoot matches or something (that's what I always did, letting him shoot fire arrows Big Grin ), the one in red has a robotic twinbrother, they both carried lasers, I also have on called Squeeze because he has long arms and looks kinda like a python, then there was another one, Í forgot the name, but U pulled some lever and then snakes came out of his eyes, chest and mouth, I also have one which I believe is called Stinkor, he kinda looks like a skunk and the bastard really does smell. Yea, I still have those, I even still have Castle Greyskull, He-Man was cool back then, I saw some new serie a little while ago but it was nothing like the He-Man from the 80's. Still I think it's cool to play with He-Man action figures with my 5 year old nephew, he has the new ones, I have the old ones and for some reason he likes mine more than he likes his own....

i had loads of monster in my pocket! i used to buy the 12 pack that had a 25 point monster in a little window on the front of the box. happy days.

i never had that amstrad, i had a 464 though. that computer was so cool! i used to get the bus into town with my friend who lived next door and we used to get a game with our pocket money on saturday mornings.

did anyone have "muscle men?" they were little rubber figures, about the size of monster in my pocket. and they used to come in a dustbin. they were good fun

Posted by $posts[username] on 03-19-2005 at18:30:

Dude...i remember having almost every color of muscle men possible...i used to think it odd they came in trash cans too, but then they also came in these big ass packages also...they had some really strange looking ones to boot.
Hey if anyone wants me to secure some form of a pic of any old toy you remember let me know and i'll see if i can get it...i have a shitload already

Posted by $posts[username] on 03-19-2005 at18:42:

What the hell is that? That's just odd looking.

Anyone else play with Erector Sets when they were younger? I found some old sets in my room not all to long ago and I had a blast putting them together again. My Ferris Wheel is broken though... T_T
